One excellent feature is the use of the centre section of the board as a kind of window into the goings-on of the town.
Instead of the classic locations based on real life cities, the game features properties from around Bikini Bottom, such as the Krusty Krab and the Chum Bucket plus many more sure to be dear to viewers' hearts! This version of the game combines the cutthroat financial wizardry with the loveable character of SpongeBob SquarePants and the other characters from the hit children's cartoon, set in the quirky location of Bikini Bottom, making it more accessible and fun for younger players. The game is addictive and long-running, with changes and reversals of fortune seeing players rise to dizzying heights of wealth and plunge to near bankruptcy with just a few throws of the dice. However, players must be careful to ensure that they do not overextend themselves and be left short when they need to pay rent or a fine. Having started with a set amount of (fake) money, the aim of the game is to be the richest person at the end of the game, making money by buying all the properties in one area, ensuring that they collect all rents due to them and increasing the values of the properties by building on them. Monopoly is a game that requires the player to move around the board, using dice to determine how many spaces to move, buying properties, building hotels and houses and charging and paying rent.
It does have a password system, but I really do think that they could have allowed you to save your game.SpongeBob SquarePants Monopoly is a rather surrealistic merging of the capitalist board game and the loveable cartoon character that, rather unexpectedly, works really well! The game does not have any kind of save game feature which for the time this game was released is pretty ridiculous in all honesty. It is one that is going to provide you with more of a challenge than you would think. So, while it is what you would call a “kids” game. Some levels have different ways you can go through them and one of them is always much more challenging. The game is far more challenging than you would think. What The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie game does may not be groundbreaking stuff in the genre, however, I would say that it does what it does very well. You can collect coins as you go and there are also some fun mini-games and boss battles as well. You can play as both SpongeBob and Patrick and they each have their own set of moves for you to make use of. The gameplay is that of a 2D action/platformer.
Although, if they could have put a few actual cut scenes in the game I do feel that would have been cool. The soundtrack is what you would expect from a SpongeBob game and in all, I have no complaints about the way the game looks. SpongeBob, Patrick, and the rest of the cast all look good and are animated really well. I also like how bright and colorful everything was.
There are six worlds that are based on various locations from the movie and not only do they all look unique from each other. This is a 2D platformer and the game looks pretty damn solid. One feature that all of the SpongeBob games seem to share is a slick level of presentation and that is the case for The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie game on the Game Boy Advance too. The game is not as cinematic as the console versions, but the story is told well enough through text and still pictures from the movie. SpongeBob is mad as hell at getting passed over for a promotion so when King Neptune needs help finding a special spatula, SpongeBob jumps at the chance to prove he can do it. The story of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie follows the plot of the movie pretty closely. This is a very fun and well-made action/platform game where you play as. The fact of the matter is this little dude has appeared in far more “good” games than he has bad ones. While The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie may not look like much at first glance. One thing that I feel really needs to be mentioned is that while it would be so easy to just pass over all of the SpongeBob games. The one I am looking at today is for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. I thought that the first The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie was fantastic and the video games based on it were pretty damn good too.
